Universe: The frame population is restricted to candidates of parties that were members of the German Bundestag prior to the 2017 general election: SPD, CDU, CSU, Bündnis90/Die Grünen and Die Linke. These were complemented by candidates of the, according to pre-election surveys, biggest non-parliamentary parties FDP and AfD.
